Apologies to readers for being so very tardy in adding new posts. There is only so much one can show and tell about snow!!
I have now finished my housesitting sojourn in Vermont and, somewhat reluctantly, left my comfortable home of the last few weeks and Bubba, who has been good company.
This week is being spent in Montreal where the weather, if anything, is even colder than Newport. I am staying in a less than desirable apartment in Atwater, which is convenient for the bus to the airport if nothing else, apart from the McDonalds directly across the street should I have the urge to consume a Big Mac. So far I have resisted the temptation.

I have had one beautiful day when it has all looked very pretty but looks can be deceptive. The temperature has ranged from -18 to -24C and I don’t think I have ever been so cold. On Monday, I went for a walk in the snow along dirty, slushy pavements and yesterday, when the electricity cut off in the apartment and the heating consequently disappeared, I adjourned to a shopping centre for a haircut and then to an Outdoor Clothing shop for a couple of hours. (My kind of shopping!)
Normally, I prefer to catch the bus but it has been far too cold to stand around waiting for one so I have been forced onto the metro. Luckily, the stop is very close to the apartment so minimal time has to be spent outside. There is not going to be much venturing out for sight seeing this week!
